Annual English championships events are run to give athletes an opportunity to compete at recognised national venues. All ISSF disciplines run on electronic targets and are conducted by experienced and qualified staff.

ESSU and England Teams
ESSU members are eligible for selection for many teams to represent England in Home Nations International Matches.
10m Air Rifle & Air Pistol
At the British Airgun Championships held at Bisley, Men’s & Women’s teams of three and one reserve in senior and junior categories. Selection based upon performance rankings.
50m Prone & 3P Rifle
Men’s & Women’s teams of three with one reserve for senior and junior categories compete in the 50m matches held at the British 50m national meeting, with roving venues across the UK. A 60-shot match decides the winners. Selection based upon performance rankings.
50m Prone Main Team of 10 and Men’s & Women’s teams of five; also Junior teams of three are selected. Matches are held at the National Meeting, Bisley; a single Dewar (20 shots at 50m and 20 shots at 100 yards) decides the outcome. Selection is from X and A class shooters based upon athletes’ performance in the Week Aggregate.
Inter Services ESSU Invitation Team Competition
A team of 10 athletes plus two reserves competes against combined Army, Navy and RAF athletes. The match format varies; the current venue is Worplesdon Range in Surrey. Selection is at the discretion of the Teams Manager.
